Pre University Education at, Sri Bhuvanedra College, Karkala in the year 1980.
Joined AIT Chikkamagalur for Engineering in 1982, further continued Engineering at JNCE, Shimoga in 1984.
Master of Arts in Political Science, (M.A.) from Mysore Open University in 1995.
Fellowship from Eisenhower Foundation, Philadelphia, USA in 2004. President George H.W. Bush heads the foundation.
Obtained a degree in Master of Philosophy in Political Science (M.Phil.) from Madurai Kamaraj Open University in 2008, on the subject “A Study on Problems and Prospects of Women Panchayath representatives in Shimoga District.”
He has been awarded the Doctoral Degree (Ph.D) in Political Science by Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai, for his thesis titled “Women’s Participation in the Panchayat Raj – A Case study of Shimoga District, Karnataka State.”
Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Sahyadri Educational Institutions has been nominated as a Special Invitee to the Karnataka State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) by the Ministry for Higher Education, Govt. of Karnataka ascertaining his contributions to the education sector. He will be on the advisory body for fostering higher education. The role of KSHEC is to evolve perspective plans, add new dimensions to higher education, and foster new ideas in the curriculum development and innovative activities in the field of higher education. It also promotes academic excellence and social justice. KSHEC ensures autonomy, accountability and co-ordination among all institutions of higher education in the state.
