“SAMSTHITA-2K15 The Skill Expo.” And “ Kaushalya- 2K15” The two days technical event was organised by Sahyadri Association of M.Tech. Civil Engineers(SAMCE) and Sahyadri Pupil Association of Civil Engineers (SPACE) at Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management. 50 projects were put on display by all the participants of department of Civil Engineering from Sahyadri College of Engineering and nearby colleges. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Mr.Ranganath Aithal , Chairman, Association of Consulting Civil Engineers, Mangaluru Centre. Dr. Umesh M Bushi Principal.and Prof. Umashankar B S Dean Academics.

Mr. Ranganath Aithal interacted with all the project teams and appreciated their ideas and efforts and gave them much more ideas for the betterment of the project.

Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, Bhandary Foundation interacted with students he also motivated them to come up with more and more ideas and continue their hardworking skill. He said that it is not academics which is the criteria to excel but along with academics, talent, intelligence and passion is very important. Dr. Umesh M. Bhushi, Principal and Prof. Umashankar,Dean Academic interacted with the teams and also appreciated the participants for their work.

The day-long events witnessed students showcasing their talent in projects, Shilpi the model making, Veekshana the video collage , Anveshana (IS Code Cracking) and Jnana quiz competitions. They had the opportunity to interact with the guests individually.

Mr. Vasudev Murthy, Head, Tools Academy, Bengaluru , gave technical talk on the topic “ cement and concrete “ for the Civil Engineering students of higher semesters and for first years. He spoke about the opportunities available once they complete their post graduation. He emphasized on the urge to learn and advised them on how to get into the civil engineering profession.
